The Smile Centre team recognises the anxiety that some people feel. We have had enormous success helping even the most anxious of patients overcome their negative feelings towards dental visits.

When you become a patient of The Smile Centre one of our treatment coordinators will talk with you in a non-dental environment. We like to learn all we can about you and your past experiences, how you are feeling about your visit and any treatment you may require. This information is used to put you at ease during your initial meeting with the dentist. Following a thorough dental examination you will have further time to discuss your treatment options and how we can make them more comfortable for you on an ongoing basis.

If you feel you need extra help to get started with dental treatment, The Smile Centre team is conversant in conscious sedation techniques. We can also recommend complementary therapists who are able to teach self-hypnosis or relaxation techniques.

Taking things at your pace and giving you control over how things proceed is important.
