In the past fillings were always made out of either gold or a silver-coloured alloy called amalgam. Both of these materials work very well and in some circumstances they are still the best choice available. But they both have one really big disadvantage - they don’t resemble natural teeth in appearance.
At the Smile Centre our first choice would always be tooth-coloured material. We can use either a special type of reinforced plastic called composite, or a variety of different ceramic materials related to glass or porcelain. This means that we can create beautiful, natural-looking fillings that won’t spoil your smile. |
