Whitening
Transform dull into dazzling – whiten dark or discoloured teeth safely.
Our smile is the gift we give to the world – it can speak a thousand words. The smile of encouragement a mother gives to a child taking its first steps; the joyous smile of a bride and the proud smile of her father as he walks her down the aisle.
Your smile is enhanced when it reveals a gleaming set of sparkling teeth and The Smile Centre team can safely and expertly give you just that.
If time is of the essence choose our in-surgery power whitening treatment which gives immediate results. Alternatively, whiten at your own pace with our customised ‘at home’ kits. Whichever method you choose you can be sure that your safety is our primary concern.
So many cosmetic treatments involve lengthy or unpleasant procedures but with tooth whitening you can achieve noticeable results quickly and relatively easily – we’ll even take a before and after photo so you can see the transformation.
White Fillings
In the past fillings were always made out of either gold or a silver-coloured alloy called amalgam. Both of these materials work very well and in some circumstances they are still the best choice available. But they both have one really big disadvantage - they don’t resemble natural teeth in appearance.
At the Smile Centre our first choice would always be tooth-coloured material. We can use either a special type of reinforced plastic called composite, or a variety of different ceramic materials related to glass or porcelain. This means that we can create beautiful, natural-looking fillings that won’t spoil your smile. |
Crowns and Veneers
If a tooth is badly broken down as a result of decay or trauma, it may not be possible to build it up again using a filling. In this case it may be better to restore the tooth using a crown.
A crown is an artificial tooth which is attached to the remnants of a natural one. Teeth that are severely discoloured or out of position can also be improved by crowning.
Placing a crown requires the removal of quite a lot of natural tooth tissue so whenever possible we would rather place a veneer. These are rather like false finger nails and are carefully bonded to the surface of a natural tooth to mask imperfections in the enamel or improve the position and appearance. Veneers often require much less preparation of the natural tooth tissue and so preserve much more of what nature gave you.
Your crowns and veneers will be carefully crafted by our technicians who have many years experience in the art of dental ceramics.
Once fitted you will smile and eat with the confidence of knowing that your teeth look great and are longer lasting. |
