Did you know that how widely you smile could give you an idea of how long you\u2019ll live! According to Forbes Magazine, Wayne State University research showed that out of hundreds of baseball players who had their own collectible cards in 1952, the ones who smiled widely for the camera lived for 79.9 years. Those who didn\u2019t, had an average life span of 72.9 years. That\u2019s a difference of 7 years! What we don\u2019t know however, is the reason why some of them smiled more than others. One of the biggest obstacles to smiling is embarrassment about how your teeth look, with having missing teeth being just about the biggest smile worry a person can have. You might feel self-conscious; not just  because gaps are unsightly, but also because if you don\u2019t replace a missing tooth with a prosthetic equivalent, like dental implants<\/strong><\/a>, all sort of things can happen to further disfigure your smile.<\/p>\n

Your remaining teeth may also shift into the new space that has been created and be pushed out of alignment, leaving your smile not only with a gap, but looking less straight than it was previously.<\/p>\n
